Accurate Weight & Body Fat Scales

In order to lose body fat, you must be able to track your progress accurately. This means weighing yourself regularly, say once a week and measuring your body fat percentage at the same time. To do this, you need an accurate body fat scale.

There are certainly more accurate ways of measuring body fat percentage, but they involve extra expense and going outside your home.

A good set of body fat measuring scales are easy to use, convenient and above all, consistent.

That's the important thing. Use them consistently. For example, measure your weight and body fat percentage every Sunday morning, after your shower and before breakfast. This is just an example. Do whatever fits in with your own routine. But do it consistently.

RENPHO Digital Smart Bluetooth Body Fat Scale

Here's a 5 star review from an Amazon owner of this scale:

So I've heard many things about this scale and decided to buy it as I am on a fitness journey. It took about 2-3 hours to charge but after that should be good for a very long time until another charge.

This is actually pretty cool on what this scale tells you about your body.

I have myself and mom on my ipad renpho app. My sister downloaded the app on her own phone and we take turns on the scale no problem.

I have been using it for just over 2 weeks now and it's really neat. The only thing I'm a little confused on is when you compare your weight on different days. I'm not sure if it's right. That's the only thing I'm having a little confusion. I'm using it on an ipad. My sister is using it on her iphone and she didn't even get the option to compare so maybe that's just an IOS thing?

INNOTECH Smart Bluetooth Body Fat Scale

Here's a 5 star review from an Amazon owner of this scale:

OK, you can see from the screenshot from my iPhone, I need to lose 40 lbs at least. I'm only 5' 7" Sigh... But that's why I bought this scale, hoping I could get some data and motivation regarding my body composition. After some testing, here's the deal. I have a medical-grade balance scale, and this thing matches it exactly for weight. The product claims a 0.2 lb accuracy. That's 3.2 ounces. So just for fun I drank a cup of coffee and damn if it didn't show a 0.4 increase. One more thing about the accuracy, I've probably had a dozen cheaper digital scales over the years, and each one reported different weights, by a half a pound or more, each time you stepped on them in the same minute or so. This one stays the same each time. It adds to the motivation when you are confident about the values.

I have no way to test the body composition accuracy, but that's not what's important. What counts is being able track trends. So even though I've only lost a few pounds so far, the scale's measurements seem to track the trends consistently. The scale uses the usual capacitance method of measuring hydration, fat, muscle mass, etc. For whatever reason, their algorithm is at least consistent for each estimate, so you can see trends.

GREATERGOODS Smart Bluetooth Scale

Here's a 5 star review from an Amazon owner of this scale:

We had the previous version of this scale and loved it. So when they contacted me & asked if I wanted a free upgrade I was all about it!

We’ve been using it for about a month now & so far it syncs great with no issues. Setup was easy & it integrates nicely with myfitnesspal, carb manager & of course the weight gurus app.

I love how I can just step on it & it knows I am user 1 and records my info & then sends it to my phone (if I’m logged into the app).

The customer service from this company is top notch. They have great tutorials & trouble shooting just in case you have issues setting it up & you can even call or email them.

The look of the scale is similar to the previous version, but the display is a little different. I love how it looks in our bathroom. I always find it amusing how guests feel drawn to the scale “just to see” what they weigh. We have received lots of compliments on this scale. I also think it is reasonably priced for what it does.

REDOVER 2019 Smart Bluetooth Scale

Here are two (because they're short) 5 star review from Amazon owners of this scale:

I paid $180 for my Withings scale and their app doesn't provide half of the information this app does.

The Withings scale simply quit working within a year. This scale measures very quickly and accurately. The app gives readout of bodyfat%, BMI, Subcutaneous fat%, Visceral fat%, Body water%, Skeletal muscle%, Muscle mass in lbs, bone mass, even protein%. It also shows you where you are versus where you should be in every category.

It's worth every penny. BUY IT!!!

Price: $32.99

I'd go to health seminars once a year and they would always tell me the results which was all blah blah to me. Then I bought this scale and said WOW! that's what they mean. This scale is super easy to use and the app can be downloaded just by using the QR reader! I have another scale to compare it to (at my doctor's office) and was surprised at how accurate this scale was for the price! I love it and can't imagine going back to the old school scales!
