Welcome to Aging Slowdown. Here you will find many, many resources to help you look and feel younger.
My goal is to help you to enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle as you progress into the wonderful world of senior citizenship.
First of all, a bit about me.
This year, 2021 I turned 77.
I'm not your average septuagenarian.
I weigh the same as I did when I was an 18 year old athlete at school, almost 60 years ago. I weigh 68 kg or 150 lb and still have the same 77 cm or 30 in waist. My BMI is 22.5.
I can bench press 80 kg or 176 lb, which is a fair bit more than my own body weight. I can hold a 5 minute plank and do 110 pushups in one go.
I enjoy 100km or 62.5 mile bike rides for fun. I can generally out sprint and out climb cyclists half my age.
The only reason I have a doctor is that I needed her name for completing some online forms. Otherwise, I don't go to a doctor because I never get sick. Literally. No colds, no flu, no tummy upsets.
I take no drugs, prescribed or over the counter.
My mother lived to 102, and then decided that she didn't need to live any longer and passed away peacefully in her sleep. There was no specific cause of death.
These are my qualifications to advise anyone on how they can stay fit and healthy as they age and to hear that wonderful statement from others "OMG, you can't really be (whatever)."
I WANT TO HELP YOU
Look, the title of my site is Aging Slowdown.
So you wouldn't be here unless that's what you want to achieve.
And I want to help you.
There are many things you can do to feel and look younger, from lifestyle choices such as diet (which means what you eat, not some fad diet with a fancy name and multiple paid celebrity endorsements) and exercise through to anti-aging creams and supplements.
I'll cover them all here. Some will be free, some you'll need to pay for. But rest assured I will never recommend something that I haven't done or tried myself. Or at least thoroughly researched.
THE AGING SLOWDOWN SITE GOALS
Some statistics suggest that the current generation of kids will be the first ever to have a shorter lifespan than their parents.
How dreadful is that?
It's all down to an addiction to over processed and over sugared food, a sedentary, risk averse lifestyle and a reliance on prescribed drugs.
All of these things age you.
Our goal is to provide you with the blueprint to slow down aging and regain (or retain) your youth.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
