Although I'm a guy, I've done a lot of research into the best diet plans and exercise regimes for women as well as men.

At 75 years old (pretty close to 76 actually and the father of sons aged 50, 48 and 44 and a daughter about to turn 29) I weigh slightly less than I did as an 18 year old athlete, I bench press more than my body weight and I still have a six-pack.

My body fat percentage is 13.8%.

I mention this only to show you that I walk the walk when it comes to diet and exercise. And yes, I understand that male and female physiques are different!

I'm a big fan of the Keto diet as one of the best diet plans for women. Get into ketosis, burn fat for fuel and lose weight. What could go wrong?

Well, a couple of things.

When you're in ketosis, you've got no glucose in your bloodstream and no glycogen in your liver or muscles.

Which means if you want to go for a long bike ride (an aerobic exercise that really burns away the fat) or lift some serious weights (which ramps up your metabolism and firms and reshapes your body) it's difficult because they need an immediate source of energy.

I can't possibly write a review about the best diet plans for women without mentioning the Cinderella solution as another of the best diet plans for women.

Why?

Well, simply because so many women swear by it.

They've tried everything else over a number of years and nothing's worked until they tried the Cinderella solution and now they've lost the weight and, more importantly, the fat they've been trying to get rid of for years.

The thing that's unique about the Cinderella solution is that (although based on an original Japanese approach) it's one woman's documentation of what worked for her. Her name is Carly Donovan.

The thing is it seems to have worked for nearly everyone else who's followed her journey as well.

It has its detractors. The usual "Is Carly Donovan's Cinderella Solution a Scam?" crap.

They all seem to be centered around the idea of your Cinderella Weight. 

This is just a reverse BMI (Body Mass Index) calculation designed to give you a BMI of 18.

This might be OK if you're a Disney princess with a wasp waist and hips that would never deliver a baby.

In the real world, 18 is not an ideal BMI. It's too low.

My suggestion is to use 22 as your multiplier, not 18. This will give you a much more realistic as well as healthier weight goal.

Otherwise, it's a great plan. One of the best diet plans for women.
